Lithium Technologies Announces New Client Services Group To Address Emerging Enterprise Social Media Needs

EMERYVILLE, Calif. – September 3, 2008Lithium Technologies, provider of the leading on-demand enterprise social media platform, today announced the growth of its client services group to further ensure successful deployment, management, and measurable return-on-investment for customer-facing social media sites. Iain Grant, a 20-year industry veteran who most recently led Salesforce.com's social media delivery efforts, has been hired as Vice President of Client Services to scale and lead Lithium's growing team.

Lithium's Client Services group now includes:

  • Strategy & Planning Services to help clients incorporate lifecycle planning into their social media initiatives;
  • Education Services to propagate best practices among all social media stakeholders within an organization;
  • Optimization Services to measure and achieve long-term community growth with in-depth evaluation, benchmarking, reporting, and detailed community assessments.

These programs complement Lithium's existing services for Launch & Configuration, Application Engineering, and Management & Moderation.

All of Lithium's services are tuned for social media delivered through a software-as-a-service (SaaS) environment, where clients and end-users have come to expect more rapid deployment and iteration than have traditionally been possible with on-premise enterprise software.

"As enterprise social media moves from early adopters to the mainstream, we've seen marketing, support, and customer experience executives requesting a wider range of services, from initial strategy to full lifecycle planning, measurement, and execution," said Lyle Fong, Founder and CEO, Lithium Technologies. "We are excited to have Iain Grant join us from Salesforce.com, where he helped pioneer client services for enterprise SaaS deployments. His experience will be a tremendous asset to guiding Lithium's customers towards meeting and exceeding their business objectives from social media investments."

With over 20 years of industry experience, Grant has an outstanding track record for building successful, client-focused organizations based on a deep knowledge of CRM, ERP, and collaboration systems. At SaaS-leader Salesforce.com, he was responsible for all enterprise customers in the Western United States, and for deployments of Salesforce's Online Community Application (Ideas). Prior to his tenure at Salesforce.com, Mr. Grant served as the Global Practice Director for Unisys, where he built and managed the Microsoft Dynamics practice, including CRM offerings. He has also held senior leadership positions at Versata, IBM, and PricewaterhouseCoopers.

"What impresses me about Lithium is that they understand that social media is not just about technology, it's about people," said Grant. "They've already built a services organization that is both nimble and deeply attuned to the cultural and organizational issues posed by social media in the enterprise. Now we'll focus on scaling out the organization and ensuring that all of our programs improve continuously."
