Lithium Technologies Appoints Ed Van Siclen as SVP of Business Development & Global Alliances
Emeryville, Calif. October 13, 2011 – Lithium Technologies, the leader in Social Customer Solutions, today announced a significant addition to its corporate leadership with the appointment of Ed Van Siclen as Senior Vice President of Business Development & Global Alliances.
Van Siclen will drive the ongoing expansion of Lithium's worldwide partner network, identifying, managing and maximizing the company's alliances and growth opportunities. He will report directly to Rob Tarkoff, Lithium President and Chief Executive Officer.
"I'm excited to welcome Ed to Lithium, said Tarkoff. "Ed is a world-class talent and I'm honored that he's agreed to join Lithium as we continue to help the world's most recognizable brands define, grow and engage their social customers. This is a key appointment to our executive team that further bolsters the incredibly strong leadership at Lithium."
Van Siclen will join Lithium from Adobe Systems, where he was instrumental in maturing Adobe's enterprise partner ecosystem and expanding its presence among digital and interactive agencies in his role as Vice President of Technology and Partner Solutions. He brings more than 25 years of experience in creating, managing and growing successful indirect sales channels and global partner programs.
"Meeting customers where they are and when they choose to engage is the new enterprise imperative—one that Lithium is uniquely qualified to address—Van Siclen said. "The real magic lies in the combination of Lithium's ground-breaking social engagement platform and the creative genius of the partner community."
Prior to Adobe, Van Siclen was Vice President of Strategic Alliances at Salesforce.com, where he crafted the company's referral program and indirect sales channel of value added resellers and independent software vendors. Under his leadership, the Salesforce.com partner community grew from a few hundred partners to over 5,000 global partners. He has held sales leadership and management positions at BEA Systems, Tivoli Systems and Legato Software.
Van Siclen holds a bachelor's degree from Princeton University.
Lithium's latest leadership additions highlight the company's ability to attract industry visionaries of the highest caliber. Tarkoff joined Lithium as President and CEO last month from Adobe, where he served as Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Digital Enterprise Solutions business unit, which had annual revenue exceeding $1 billion.
